Track & Field News<\/em> has\u00a0 been\u00a0 formally\u00a0 choosing\u00a0 an\u00a0 Athlete\u00a0 Of\u00a0 The Year since \u201959. Our Men\u2019s World Rankings began with the \u201947 season, but\u00a0 for\u00a0 that\u00a0 year\u00a0 through\u00a0 the\u00a0 \u201958\u00a0 campaign,\u00a0 the\u00a0 concept\u00a0 of\u00a0 an\u00a0 AOY didn\u2019t exist. The Women\u2019s AOY was added to the mix in \u201974.<\/p>\n
